The Thorough Scarily Accurate Weather Log

Day Thirty-One (Nov 1 - Nov 2) Day Thirty-Two (Nov 3 - Nov 4)
Temperature: 25°C (feels like 28°C)
Conditions: A sudden shift upward in temperature! Warm! Glorious Warmth!
Humidity: 68%
Sensory Notes: The air feels thick and faintly sweet while metal handrails are warmer than normal to the touch. Water tastes slightly mineral-rich. The replicators have switched to cold drinks and food. They also, miraculously, seem to be working perfectly!
Observatories: The Zero-G works again. The stars shimmer strangely, as if refracted through heat.
Temperature: 27°C (feels like 30°C)
Conditions: The heat intensifies and the deck corridors shimmer faintly, while the sound of humming fans fills the air. They actually do nothing to help, though. Ambiance only. Bummer.
Humidity: 66%
Sensory Notes: Everything carries a faint ozone tang; even the air feels bright. The Replicators are back to their typical tricks and are offering nothing but shaved ice and “sunfruit” cocktails.
Observatories: Zero G seems to have confused right with down and left with up. The heat distortion makes the starfield ripple like waves, but otherwise there is only the endless expanse of space. It's kind of lonely, honestly.
Day Thirty-Three (Nov 5 - Nov 6) Day Thirty-Four (Nov 7 - Nov 8)
Temperature: 29°C (feels like 33°C)
Conditions: The ship’s outer hull radiates heat. Some plants in the Jungle wilt despite a cold mist settling within it. The Aquarium's water is cool to the touch and a welcome reprieve for those brave enough to swim.
Humidity: 63%
Sensory Notes: The air hums with cicada-like vibrations. Clothes cling uncomfortably and ice melts instantly. The replicators serve nothing but lukewarm food and drink.
Observatories: The Zero-G Observatory is under thermal shock; entry causes a static shock, but it is still usable. The Noanga passes a dingy, run down Space mall that provides basic shops and has a supermarket and a garden store that have seen better days.
Temperature: 31°C (feels like 36°C)
Conditions: Midday brings oppressive heat, the highest recorded on the Noanga this cycle. The Aquarium's water remain cool and soothing.
Humidity: 60%
Sensory Notes: Surfaces pulse with faint warmth as if the ship were alive. Sweat evaporates too fast while static discharge increases tenfold. The replicators distribute electrolyte slushies that somehow taste bland no matter what flavour is asked for.
Observatories: The Noanga enters a dead solar system around red dwarf, passing warning stations without stopping. Adventuring out reveals signs of cataclysmic battles. Space ship debris paints unpleasant ends and signs point to the battle being between two Terran factions.
Day Thirty-Five (Nov 9 - Nov 10) Day Thirty-Six (Nov 11 - Nov 12)
Temperature: 33°C (feels like 38°C)
Conditions: The air recyclers issue heat alarms every hour while the shadows look sharper than usual -do they have eyes?!-, and light reflections appear golden. Entering the Jungle is like entering a slightly cooler swamp. The Aquarium remains the only coolish waters. Character rooms affected!
Humidity: 58%
Sensory Notes: Everything smells faintly of metal and salt while the decks shimmer with heat. The replicators are non-functional from morning.
Observatories: The Noanga leaves the dead system that night.
Temperature: 34°C (feels like 39°C)
Conditions: A dry, crackling heat suffuses the corridors. Electronics hum louder than usual as they struggle to work. The Jungle contains a breeze in some parts, but the cooler the breeze, the greater the danger. The Aquarium remains the only coolish waters. Character rooms affected!
Humidity: 55%
Sensory Notes: The air smells faintly of dust and static and heat. The replicators work sluggishly as they overheat, serving only lukewarm and above food and drink.
Observatories: Aurora patterns briefly flicker at sunset, the mirage effect of an overheated hull. The shadows have eyes. The Aquarium has gained alien fish and squid.
Day Thirty-Seven (Nov 13 - Nov 14) Day Thirty-Eight (Nov 15 - Nov 16)
Temperature: 35°C (feels like 40°C)
Conditions: Record-breaking heat as the decks radiate faint waves visible to the naked eye. The Aquarium remains the only coolish waters. Character rooms affected!
Humidity: 52%
Sensory Notes: Water tastes metallic and condensation is non-existent. The replicators produce hot cucumber water when asked for water.
Observatories: All instruments report false “starfire” readings, whatever that means. The shadows are back to normal, but there is a feeling of unease left.
Temperature: 36°C (feels like 42°C)
Conditions: The heat peaks and even the Jungle and Aquarium swelter. Character rooms affected!
Humidity: 50%
Sensory Notes: Light bends subtly in hallways and character reflections appear to move half a beat too slow. The replicators provide only brackish water, fruit ice, and mint leaves.
Observatories: Gravity gets very wonky all across the ship. (Player Plot starts)
Day Thirty-Nine (Nov 17 - Nov 18) Day Forty (Nov 19 - Nov 20)
Temperature: 33°C (feels like 37°C)
Conditions: The first hints of coming relief comes in the form of faint wind corridors that stir recycled air.
Humidity: 56%
Sensory Notes: The warmth turns drowsy and lulling. The replicators serve ice chips and hot food.
Observatories: Gravity Plot in effect! Navi-No succumbs to heat and starts singing off-key sea shanties and giving directions to places that do not exist.
Temperature: 30°C (feels like 33°C)
Conditions: The heatwave finally breaks, much like a fever would. Air cools towards evening, carrying the strange, distant scent of petrichor. Character rooms affected!
Humidity: 62%
Sensory Notes: The replicators are broken until evening. Characters feel a deep, collective exhale from the ship itself and sleep that night comes easily - almost unnaturally so; dreams are vivid and strangely bright.
Observatories: Gravity Plot in effect! The stars seem closer, as if the ship has drawn nearer to something luminous, while for those few with Nature-based magics might feel as if something is starting to distantly stir within the Jungle. Navi-No is now singing pop-rock songs from 200 years ago.
