Star Trek and Dragon Age have prolly been my biggest focuses for a while, but like Star Wars, Pizza Dog and the Hawkeyes (particularly the Fraction/Aja run), and Psych will always bring me sliding over.

Character: Æn'kae
Canon: Star Trek OC from the year 2409 - The Romulan Republic lore is heavily pulled from Star Trek Online, but I kind of squish the events happening around him between that and prime canon
Little bit about them: A young Romulan/Vulcan who just wants to be veterinarian and somehow ended up working as a medic for a group of freedom fighters. He's a vegetarian, prefers to talk but will fight if needed, has a belief system that is a mix of spiritual and scientific, plays the Vulcan/Romulan lute as a hobby, is a bit of an anxious mess, and crushes at the drop of a hat. His pet Targ is named Roj and she is a very good girl. Her friend, Hwoinch is a Flerken, please try not to scare him.

Hopes and dreams: As ever. I'm pretty open. But if they succeed at getting more equipment/meds for the med-bay, Æn'kae won't be scrounging so much to get it functional and will have more time for other stuff. I know he will be practicing solo fighting forms in whatever sort of exercise area is available. If someone wants their char to spot it and offer to practice together or smth, he'd totally agree to a sparring partner I think, since the pirate incident reminded him that he needs to keep up with it.

Space Wendy's seems like a good time for an actual on screen introduction to chocolate if anyone wants to accidentally get our local Vulcanoid a wee bit drunk by suggesting it. :D (Likely to include general tipsyness, may include thought/emotional run-off too)

Also? I would always be down for just straight up pet shennanigans. Would your pokemon/creatures/constructs like to ~~solve crime~~ cause mischief with a Targ and a Flerken?

Dain will probably start out wondering about his ears and what "tribe" he's from, and every answer will lead to another question with increasing fascination. Please explain "veterinarian" to him and let him watch your kitten and spiky pig play together. Also share with him the wonders of technology not used to create monsters and terrorize people, and just how big "the world" is. Dain will fixate on him if Aen'kae shares enough and helps him understand this strange place.

We might get some interesting... conflict if the first time Dain comes into contact with Aen'kae's telepathy is when he's tipsy and accidentally projects a bit onto him. Unfortunately he will not recommend chocolate, all food tastes equally (un)appealing to him.

I'm really interested to see them interacting! Æn'kae will love explaining animals (Like asking questions about some will probably get him overexplaining.) And he's definitely reached a point he's comfortable talking about tech and sciencey things that he wasn't when he first arrived. How much he can help understand where they are is limited, like "look I still don't understand it here, but we're all figuring it out together" XD

We shall see how chocolate goes!

Would you be down for Loki's mimic (Little Loki) deciding to emulate its Person and do shenanigans with Roj and Hwoinch? Possibly riding one or both of them while looking like a (little) Thor and (silently) begging to have a picture or video taken for Future Use?

adssff yes good. Shenanigans, chaos. Hwoinch helping them get places they couldn't otherwise. I'm also kinda imagining two Hwoinches riding Roj?

Or Little Loki recruits Meor to ride it and transforms into a copy of Roj. She trots past someone with Hwoinch riding proudly on her, then a few minutes later Targ!Little Loki marches past the same person with Meor. Make people wonder if they're experiencing deja vu.

About you: East Coast US (UTC-5) but I keep very irregular hours. She/her. Eclectic fandom tastes, but I do tend towards optimism in the end. Probably a little too fond of media aimed at kids for an adult woman.

Character: Dain
Canon: Deltora Quest, a series of books sold by Scholastic and designed to really appeal to kids. (There's also an anime and I integrate bits and pieces of it into my AU, but Dain's primarily based on the books.) Explaining what the AU is is highly dependent on Dain's character, so full explanation in the next question.
Little bit about them: Okay, so. In canon, Dain seems like a polite, somewhat serious, rather nervous (but starting to grow out of it) young man who the heroes come to love. Unfortunately for them, he's actually a shapeshifting spy for the Shadow Lord called an Ol and everything about him was a calculated act.

So, my AU is, what if it wasn't all an act? And what if, because of circumstances and developing a genuine mutual respect for the heroes, he turns against his master? With another major change to the character dynamics: His identity is known. First just to the leader of the Resistance, Doom, but when he's told to follow the heroes and spy on them, Doom tips them off and asks them to not kill him. Both times he integrates into the groups, it's touchy at first, with him putting on a front of being nervous and intimidated (which isn't that much of a front), but sooner or later he relaxes and stops being afraid that he'll be killed at any moment. He truly does want to be useful, but because of restrictions the SL put on him, he can't live up to his full potential. Still, he's been finding new ways to help his friends. He's also discovered that he really likes animals and Deltora, as wild and sometimes dangerous as it is, is beautiful and he hates the idea of the SL making it like the Shadowlands.

Hopes and dreams: For reasons explained above, he's going to be very acting very scared and trying to be unobtrusive (while also very carefully observing everything around him). If traveling across Deltora was an eye-opening experience, going from a mostly-standard medieval ~~European~~ Australian fantasy world to a space ship will blow his mind. Unfortunately, a lot of the technology will set off alarm bells (the SL is the most technologically minded being in the setting, and he only uses it for very twisted things) until he sees how benign and even useful it can be. I want him to come out of his shell (again) and start to trust people, enough to find a way to confess what he is. Any hope that someone could undo the SL's control over him will be pounced on and he'll be forever grateful for the efforts. But even if that's not possible, being outside of his cruel master's sight completely for the first time ever will be more freedom than he's ever felt.

Also I want to get him a pet. One of the heroes, Jasmine, was raised in a forest by trees and has two animal companions, and he dotes on them. One of his wishes was to be able to shapeshift into something like them to play with them, and now that he has the leisure time to do so, he wants to try it with as many animals as he can.

One final warning: Despite being for kids, Deltora Quest can get into very dark subject matter, especially when it comes to how the Shadow Lord makes and treats his creations. Dain hasn't decided that they should really all be slaves for nothing (though he has captured human slaves as well, of course, and their lives are nasty, brutish, and short). He's liable to at least hint at those sorts of things in comments, mentally comparing what he came from to what he's seeing, and anyone who asks him, once he's able to talk freely, will probably be freaked out at what he considered normal. He's also chronologically much younger than he looks, and while he's very good at acting older, his brain/thinking/critical reasoning skills are still developing.

ETA: Oh yeah, I already play Loki, but don't have any specific plans or wishes for him, he's just having fun and being a troll. If you have an idea for him, don't hesitate to ask!

Character: Daniel “Day” Wing
Canon: “Legend” Series by Marie Lu + CR from a small crossover RP set in “Tales from the Gas Station”
Little bit about them: A soon-adult from a dystopian world, with the trauma that comes from such, trying to take everyones advice and find hobbies and other good things. He’ll try and befriend all the people (and monsters and plants) and somehow keeps collecting magic features.

Hopes and dreams: He’s freshly in a adoring relationship with Aen’kae. Please do spot them holding hands and kissing, he can use all the positive reinforcement in his life.

The pirate attack left him a bit off-kilter, he’s put his weapons away. With the result of being both anxious of not having a means to defend himself and scared that he isn’t safe to wield anything that could kill. Maybe find him a staff or other less-lethal weapons. He’s unlikely to accept offers of protection unless they come from someone very indestructible.

Got the ability to float in the last fae gift diceroll, so I’ll finally have him try flying (without seriously breaking any bones). Otherwise he’ll focus on gardening, taming the forest bit by bit.

Character: Lucas
Canon: OC from “Children of Time” by A. Tchaikovsky
Little bit about them: he is an octopus who hasn’t seen enough struggles in life yet, thinks all of this a great tale that’ll elevate his social status at home and is largely unconcerned about all the new and weird things. Nominally an adult and certainly not behaving as such by human standards.

Hopes and dreams: Since he too learned floating from the last fae gift – back to octopus default this month! Now with extra mobility!

Given he still remembers the fallout of ‘fixing’ the gravity, he is yet staying away from further improvements to the technology. Though there is now a terrarium with ants in his room that’ll not be used for further shenanigans at all, no, never.

He’ll just continue his plan to learn all about the other people here and decorate the ship. Murals on the walls, the ceiling, the floor – do you want anything decorated? This is a good time for request, since the fae left him free reign.

I've talked about it in other places, but Dain will love to spend time with both of yours for very different reasons. Day will probably help him feel better about himself even before he's out as an Ol, and he'll just stare flying octopus who talks using colors. Would like to have Lucas suggest becoming an octopus like him at some point; it will be a disaster, but an amusing one for us.

Day will happily befriend both the human and the shapeshifter. And not even blink at that coming out lol

Lucas will, as usual, throw out all the outlandish ideas he thinks of. Hey, perhaps if he cant talk about forbidden things, he can paint them!

But I bet (hope) he'll blink when Dain starts talking about his very early life. Or do more than blink. Which will be even more validating.

Oh he'll get all the concern and comfort, just the whole "shapeshifter created for evil" is nothing new at all XD

Character: Donnie
Canon: Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018)
Little bit about them: The technical expert of his family, Donnie prides it upon himself being able to fix anything and everything and make improvements that he believes will be helpful to others. Since his discovery of the existence of mystic powers within his family, he's also been a lot more open to magic, particularly because he's found people willing to try explaining things to him in ways that are more digestible to his scientific mind. Having spent some several years in another universe away from home, on a ship full of purported world destroyers (Cybertronians), Donnie hasn't been left untouched by the experience, finding himself "gifted" with powers from several Primes, aside from being given the Arachae title of "Forest Warden Novice" and some plant-based powers to go with it. And a couple other surprises he may have forgot about thanks to prior bad Fae experiences but surely it's nothing.

Oh, he also has a pet mimic named Illex who may be in the process of trying out more organic forms.

Hopes and dreams: Playing it loose as I usually do. With Leo here, his brother will always be Donnie's top priority. That also means he will put more effort into fixing things on the ship. Usually if someone mentions something or asks him straight up to help with, he will not ignore it. He's meaning to go find something he'd sensed in the "park" from day one so that's about the only personal real IC objective he has at the moment.

Oh, he also has a pet mimic named Illex who may be in the process of trying out more organic forms.

Dain needs to meet Illex. Hopefully Donnie won't be too offended when he asks how he made a Grade 3 Ol his sl- pet who obeys him completely.

ETA: Also Loki and Donnie should arrange playdates for their mimics.

Hahaha, that should be an interesting conversation in general.

Hopefully Loki's mimic isn't fullgrown, Illex is a little over a year old now but his last experience near an adult mimic ended up with Donnie getting kidnapped. :')

Especially when Dain goes from intimidated by both of them to fascinated and wanting to see more of them enjoying each others' presence.

Loki's mimic is even younger than a year; he got it during the kitten chaos event several months ago OOC/somewhat more than a month ago IC and is still small. It usually likes turning into a piece of clothing for Loki, most often helmet.

A babby! LoL, yeah, Illex usually likes pretending to be another bracer or Donnie's goggles (Donnie has to make it a habit to check what he puts on his head), but enjoys being a pillow because then Donnie doesn't feel so weird cuddling it.

Less growth and more "ohhh, I completely misunderstood the situation, this is more like Jasmine and her animal companions".

Loki can usually tell what his mimic is being, since he doesn't have a real helmet. He often has to tell it that a helmet isn't what he wants to wear right now, could you please change into something less ostentatious.

Character: Morgana 'Morgan' Sakurai
Canon: Pokemon. The main pitch of the AU is "what if Surfacage's comics concept of bonding with legendaries was expanded on, and there were other supernatural abilities?"
This AU incorporates 5 new regions, 4 of which comprise an entirely new continent (3 of these regions can be credited to Usagi, who plays here!). Ransei is also incorporated, as well as side game regions. The map is currently in WIP as we wait for Winds & Waves to release next year, but those regions will be part of this AU as the final mainline region added.

Trainers in this au are permitted to carry nine Pokémon in their parties, opposed to the traditional 6, and are allowed up to 12 moves in battle instead of the traditional 4. Legendaries & Mythicals are neither 1-of-a-kind NOR are they genderless. Traditionally, monogendered Pokémon are changed to have a 1:7 ratio. For example, Braviary would be 1 female to 7 males, and the inverse for Mandibuzz which would be 1 male to 7 females. Legendary & Mythical Pokémon possess the ability to "Bond" with people, known as Titan Bonding. These Bonds are once per individual, meaning that one person cannot be Bonded to two different Legendaries/Mythicals and vice versa, as it establishes a special Psychic connection between the two individuals. Morgan is one such individual who has established a Bond with the Mythical Mew.

Little bit about them:
Morgan is the heiress to her family, a very old family line that can trace its roots back to Ransei's Warring Era. Morgan possesses Psychic abilities, both special and standard, the latter of which she is working on mastering as they've recently awakened. Morgan can be a bit shy and aloof, but once she warms up, she's a very kind individual who cares about those closest to her. She prefers spending time with Pokémon over people, as Pokémon haven't tried to use her for money. Morgan's Mew can often be found nearby, as well as some of her other Pokémon. Her Mew is often transforming into various creatures to blend in, but Morgan knows where Mew is at all times due to their Bond.

I'm listing her HMD & Opt-out & Permissions, as her permissions have necessary questions I would like answered! Do not answer any of the questions outside of the designated thread, as they will be ignored/hidden/deleted.

Hopes and dreams:
I would love Morgan to get settled onto the noanga, and if there's anyone who has Pokémon-like creatures, for her to meet them, if possible. I don't have any real plans JUST yet aside from getting settled and exploring/getting to know the "lay of the land" so to speak.

I am, like most of us, a huge nerd currently into the Forgotten Realms, Star Wars (okay mostly SWTOR), Pokemon, and have begun poking around in the Elder Scrolls series again after a long time since the two initial DOS entries are free. (my character in Arena is currently just being an errand boy for the village the tutorial dungeon dumped him in)

Little bit about them: Dragonborn ranger who needs to make herself needed so hard it eclipses her wisdom score. ~~Fussy~~ Eager to help, currently trying to both find medicinal plants already native to the jungle and also help with renewable food sources that aren't the replicator. Info here, permissions/opt-out here. Currently has a mysterious egg from the latest fae shenanigans that hasn't hatched yet. (but will be one of these weird things when it does)

Hopes and dreams: Nothing in particular beyond what I already wrote! I'm in dartboard mode with her. Throw things and have others throw things and see what lands where!

Character: Abric (this journal!)
Canon: Star Wars: The Old Republic, from a timeline/quest merge AU where he shared the plot with three other class stories and dragged the two Imperial ones off their second split point permanently. They also shared the merged story of course (his Imperial Agent husband straight up stole one of the Fallen Empire chapters!) Long writeup here.
Little bit about them: Smuggler Alliance Commander. Yeah. That thing all of certain social media sites claims doesn't work. They're wrong. It works. Puts up an air of a carefree rogue out for a good time, but has long, long since developed a strong sense of responsibility under it. Mildly Force sensitive, can't do the mind trick or emotion sense things though, just move his gun around. He can also create candy sprinkles at will thanks to the little mini-event. So far he has attempted to use them as distractions and thought of using very fine ones as pocket sand. Permissions/Opt-out here

Hopes and dreams: He's looking to try repairing the path to the hospital, and that also means trying to neutralize the Void Beasts. Whether that means death or capture or what, he doesn't know yet. He's a leader now, but still pretty impulsive!

And I'm sure Abric and Lucas can get up to some shenaningans. At the very least he'll count as a honorary octopus on account of the head thingies.

Yes! She's a little rusty since she's used to cheating with the plant growth spell (see: strawberries. Yes they can grow that way but they should have a freeze first), but she'll be glad to help him out! Also fussing.

Abric will have a little less patience with Lucas than Ferlarys, so that should be interesting! He'll be just as fascinated with the unintrusive genetic modification though! (from a different angle. what do you mean you can do that without a clunky mechanical prosthetic? Not his area of expertise or even close to it (except that he's married to a doctor and their kid's interested in chemistry) so he's not likely to get as stuck on it though)

Day is used to cheating too lol Republic had no winter (or really any seasons) and the gas station benefitted a lot from their aztec god of fertility hanging around. They had tropical plants in the midwest! Not to mention his forest having different ideas on time and often sub-spaces where things just were different.

If anything the octopus is easy to convince to go on adventures and will confidently try himself at any problem. Results vary wildly XD
